Dancers in the City

Photo series

This series is about taking things as they are and framing them with intention and beauty. I worked with atypical dancers and models whose bodies or backgrounds are often overlooked and under-celebrated. I had the dancers move freely, dancing not posing. Each moment either captured or gone forever. I used the city as our set and the sun as my only light source — giving attention to the spaces we walk through every day.

This series was created from 2018-2020 in collaboration with dancers across New York City, Los Angelos, and San Francisco.
